Medical Treatment

medical treatment

Let’s talk a little bit about receiving adequate medical treatment.  Let’s use this example.  Let’s say you are sitting on a traffic light and somebody runs in to the back into your vehicle.  You go to the emergency room and take some x-rays.  They give you some pain medication.  They tell you that you are going to be okay, but in the event that you are not, you should go see your doctor.  A week later you still have pain, primarily in your back and neck.  What do you do?

Well, you have a variety of different options.  One is – go to your family doctor.  Talk to your family doctor and have him examine you and see what he/she recommends.  Quite often they may recommend treatment from a chiropractor, physical therapist, or medication treatment.

Let me talk a little bit about some of the different treatment options.  Over the last 30 years, I have worked with a lot of different people.  We work with a lot of chiropractors and I like chiropractic treatment.  The reason is this: every time you go in to visit, you see the chiropractor.  It is not like a situation where your family doctor refers you to a physical therapist.  In that situation, you see the doctor once, then you get referred to the physical therapist.  That usually takes a week or two to get the appointment.  Next, you see the physical therapist and then you have to go back to see your doctor. Alternatively, with chiropractic treatment you are seeing the doctor every time you go into the office and are not referred to another doctor after your first visit. So, if you need to adjust your treatment, if something’s happened in the meantime and you need to change, they can do it right there on the spot.

Bottom line: whatever kind of treatment you decide, we will certainly be there to get your bills, to get your records, and to make sure you are taken care of.  We certainly do not want to try to settle your case until your condition is completely resolved or until that treating physician can tell us, “they’re never going to get better.  They are going to have disability.”  You can rest assured that we won’t settle your case until we know that.
